Yesterday, between work and the Daily Candy Patron Tasting, it was a busy day.
Food wise, yesterday was interesting.
Pumpkin oatmeal for breakfast:
Tuna fish and apple sandwich for lunch. Yep, tuna and apples. Mom made it when I was a kid to stretch a can of tuna fish and it is good. I love it.
The Perfect Pairings event was held at the new Ames Hotel on Court Street in the restaurant, Woodward.
There were several tasty cocktails including the Good Times Ma
rgarita, the Scarlet Letter and the Daily Grind. Pictured is the Daily Grind, which contained Patron Silver, Patron XO Cafe, expresso and agave simple syrup. Very good!
Each drink was paired with food. Roasted chicken was paired with a drink, the Heavenly Spirit.
There was a dessert course paired with the Daily Grind. The food was served family style so this was not all my brownie sundae!
It was a different pace to a Monday evening.
Today was a little quieter but I decorated the tree with Secret Sister. She picked out a really good tree.
I was exhausted this morning so I went and got a coffee with an egg, ham and cheese English muffin at Dunkin Donuts. The sandwich was better than I expected. DD is extremely hit and miss lately, mostly miss.
Lunch, was the second half of the can of tuna with apples. Yum!
I had a boneless, skinless chicken thigh roasted with a potato, onion and brussel sprouts. There was enough left over to bring tomorrow with lunch.
All in all, it was a good couple of days and I am not really thinking about R. Out of sight, out of mind, I guess.
